SOLD: Very Rare 1899 BRANDON BONSPIEL Curling Silver Medal with Ribbon – Stunning
This rare antique curling medal went to a collector in Manitoba, who then sent us this heartwarming letter.

Hi Ian.
I was very pleased to get your Brandon Bonspiel 1899 medal this morning. I live near Brandon and have curled in recent installments of the Brandon Bonspiel so this is a special find. Thanks for sharing it.
My plan is to incorporate the Bonspiel medal into a philatelic exhibit on curling. Do you have any providence trail to share about it? Through your estate work, I’m wondering if you might happen to know who the guy was who was the curler, or a family name to share that might allow me to backpedal through the family to someone who lived in Brandon at the turn of the 20th century. (There is census information that can help.)
You have my permission to use my name and contact information if you have a family window of inquiry to pursue.
Also, if you come across any other early Canadian curling memorabilia that might be of interest, please let me know. Ribbons, badges, patches, postcards, pictures etc. Envelopes that originate from a curling club, association or event such as the Brier, Lassie or Scotties.
